Baking Hazards!
Don’t these Whole Wheat Hazelnut Scones look tasty? Looks are deceiving ‘cuz these are sick! I whipped a batch of scones up for my coffee date this morning and in my haste grabbed what I THOUGHT WAS A CAN OF BAKING POWDER, only to grab a can of baking soda instead. If you don’t know much about baking, baking powder and baking soda are both leavening agents, but baking soda is about 3 times stronger. I bought baking soda at Trader Joe’s and it comes in a can that is way too similar to my can of Clabber Girl. At first I thought the container made sense as it closes neatly, but after today, I am going back to the trusty orange box of Arm and Hammer.
